The AFPC is going to the Grandes Festas do Divino Espirito Santo da Nova Inglaterra in Fall River, Massachusetts!
For the first time in its 25 year history, the AFPC will be traveling to the United States and taking part in the largest Portuguese Festivals in North America. Tickets to accompany the band on this trip are currently fully booked. A big thank you goes to all our musicians, conductors, board of directors, members and families who have been working so hard all year to prepare for this trip.

- Saturday, August 16: Music School at 5:00p.m., Rehearsal at 6:30p.m.

Sunday, August 17: Rehearsal at 4:30p.m., Brass and Percussion Sectional for last half of rehearsal

The AFPC would like to thank Kenny, Carlos, Mike and Rosa from the Lira do Divino Espirito Santo from London, Ontario, who visited our band this past weekend. Thank you also to Kenny and Mike for joining us at our rehearsal and concert, it was a pleasure to meet you and we look forward to meeting the rest of your band in the near future!

Vamos celebrar a nossa cultura e a nossa história.
10h00 – Missa solene na Igreja de Nossa Senhora de Fátima
11h00 – Levantar das bandeiras na Igreja de Nossa Senhora de Fátima
11h30 – Levantar das bandeiras na sede da AFPC
12h00 – Almoço de barbecue na sede da AFPC. A seguir do almoço haverá concertos pela Associação Filarmónica Portuguesa de Calgary com a presença do Art Brass Ensemble da Escola Superior de Musica e das artes do Espectáculo do Instituto Politécnico do Porto dirigido pelo Sr. Kevin Wauldron e danças com os folclores de Calgary.

Late afternoon: Band concerts by the Associação Filarmónica Portuguesa de Calgary and special guests, ArtBrass Ensemble from the Escola Superior de Música e das Artes do Espectáculo do Instituto Politécnico do Porto directed by Kevin Wauldron.

This weekend, we are fortunate to have eight students visiting the AFPC from a University in Porto, Portugual. The students are coming to take part in the International Trumpet Guild Festival in Banff. They will also be joining us for a performance on Saturday, June 07 for our Portugal Day Festivities in the late afternoon.
